Parenting Boundaries for Kids

I absolutely agree!!! My mother practiced this and I follow the same idea.

I do agree but something i will add (because I have seen it) alot of times parents who do this use it as an excuse to cut their child out from experiencing childhood . for a example from my own life . my best friend who i adore wasn't allowed to play with any of the kids in our neighborhood . were there issues with some of the kids . yes very much so . but I mean none absolutely none . we were allowed to play together for a year up until I started puberty (idk why but I remember that cause I got my first bra soon afterwards . her mother ended up as my boss as an adult . omfg was she a piece of work . I knew her oldest had a kid (cause I saw her with the kid after her mom kicked her out of the house) . I asked about the kid cause it had been 12 years since I had last seen any of them just asking after the family . according to her she has no grand children cause she was too young to be a grandma (she's 60) . all her kids have at least 1 that's at least 4 kids . but unrelated . my friend ended up with a stunted social skill like she can barely handle a cash register due to social interactions . it is important to let your kid be a kid if you're worried stick around you kid shouldn't be left around others unsupervised regardless
